2023 School Tax Freeze Ceiling Reduction – SB12

Texas voters passed Proposition 1 on May 7, 2022, which amended the Constitution authorizing the legislature to provide for a reduction in the 2023 school tax ceiling (freeze) for property owners with 65 & older exemption, or those qualified disabled persons. Click here to review the top questions being asked of HCAD’s customer service staff about this process. Hockley County Appraisal District has contracted with Pritchard & Abbott Inc. to prepare valuations of all oil and gas leases, telephone, gas and electric utility systems, cable television systems, pipeline systems, railroad companies, and industrial properties designated by the Chief Appraiser.  Under this contract, Prichard & Abbott Inc. also maintains a list of record owners of all producing oil and gas leases mentioned above, indicating the particular interest, or interests therein owned, including working interests and royalty interests.  Prichard & Abbott Inc. may be contacted at 4900 Overton Commons Court, Fort Worth, Texas 76132-3687, or by phone at 817.926.7861, or on their website at www.pandai.com.
